The Twitter account of Korean NFT artist DeeKay Kwon was compromised and exploited in a phishing scam.
As a result, his supporters lost NFT worth nearly $150,000.
One victim, who, according to his Twitter profile, claims to be a former engineer at Coinbase, said that he fell for the attack and had seven NFTs stolen from him.
PREMINT NFT Tool hacked, $400K stolen due to Open Source Bug
On Sunday, hackers compromised Premint’s site with malicious JavaScript code.
They created a pop-up within the site directing users to verify their wallet ownership as an additional security measure.
The hackers then infiltrated the wallets of duped customers.
Hackers stole 321 NFTs and quickly sold most of them, to the tune of over $400,000 at the time.
