But that’s not all—we’ll explore the latest happenings in the Sonic, Solana & Base ecosystems, along with advancements in the AI & Web3 space. For developers, we’re highlighting new tools designed to assist smart contract developers and auditors. And, of course, we’ll delve into the headlines about the $20M seized funds exploit, funds were of US Govt. & later returned.

US Government
Loss ~ $700K
- As ZachXBT and Arkham reported, around $20M in crypto (USDC, USDT, aUSDC, aUSDT, ETH) linked to the US Government had been compromised.
- Targeted Wallet Compromise: A US Government-linked address (0xc9E6E51C7dA9FF1198fdC5b3369EfeDA9b19C34c), holding seized funds from the infamous Bitfinex hack, appears to have been compromised.
- Stolen Assets: Approximately $20M in various assets, including USDC, USDT, aUSDC, aUSDT, and ETH, was stolen and transferred to a wallet under the hacker’s control, 0x3486eE700CcaF3E2F9C5eC9730a2e916a4740A9f
- Movement of Funds: The compromised wallet sent assets to a hacker-controlled wallet (0x3486eE700CcaF3E2F9C5eC9730a2e916a4740A9f), which quickly began selling assets and laundering the proceeds through suspicious addresses.
- Few hours later, the US Government’s address received $19.3M back following the reported hack, less than 24 hours after the initial address breach. 88% of the compromised USD value has now been recovered.
- The amount has returned almost entirely, except for about $700k in tokens that were sent to unpopular cryptocurrency exchanges - Switchain, HitBTC, and N Exchange.
